Pat Harney
Praise
First of all, I was mistaken in my earlier posts...Pat wasn`t just having gall stones removed but the whole gall bladder. The surgery went great, though, and the surgeon said everything went smoothly and without complication. Thank you Lord! She is home recovering now so pray for a quick healing process.
3/3/2010

Pat Harney
Prayer
Pat is scheduled for surgery on Thursday (March 4) to remove multiple large stones from her gall bladder. The surgery should be relatively straightforward and the doctor says she can likely go back to work next Monday or Tuesday. Please pray for a smooth and successful surgery. Pray too that Pat will be completely over a sinus infection she has been battling before then so the surgery is not delayed.

Verna Heethuis
Prayer/Praise
Verna is home and so far is doing well! The lead from the pacemaker has not come loose and as a result of the pacemaker working correctly, Verna is feeling much better. Continue to pray for her healing and recovery...the next 3-4 weeks are crucial for the tissue around the lead to heal so it "anchors".
2/25/2010
Verna Heethuis
Prayer
Verna had a second surgery on Thursday to repair the pacemaker which has not been working...there is a lead that keeps detaching from her heart. The surgeon was cautiously optimistic. He did everything he could to attach the lead securely but the next few days and weeks will be critical. Please keep praying for Verna!
2/25/2010
Frank Suidinski
Prayer
Continue to pray for Frank and his neck. He got results from an MRI today and found that he has multiple bulging discs, bone fragments and arthritis in the cervical section of his spine. The doctors are exploring whether they need to perform surgery. Thanks for your prayers.
2/23/2010
Verna Heethuis
Prayer
Verna went in for a stress test on Tuesday which did not go well so she was admitted to Metro Hospital. They are thinking either that her pacemaker is not working correctly or that she has an arterial blockage. They will perform a heart cath and then keep her overnight Tuesday to closely monitor her. Pray for Verna!

Dave [Frank Suidinski's Friend]
Prayer
Dave is currently in intensive care after some complications with the stent near his amputation. He is on oxygen [though it's been recently lowered from 80%-40%] and its sedated to keep him harming his breathing help. His blood pressure is extremely low, so he is on medication for that. On top of this, he also has pneumonia and they have found gangrene in his system. From for the doctors as they diagnose the problem and for heal in Dave's body.

Steven Pottorff
Prayer
Continue to pray for Steven. This is from Casey's Facebook page: 'Steven had a bad night last night...high fever again...we won't be going home today.' Continue to pray that his antibiotics will work and he will be able to get a handle of his fever.
2/5/2010
Steven Pottorff
Praise
After a full day in the hospital and several spikes of a 104 degree fever, the doctors finally figured out what was going on with Steven. Through the broken skin around a few bug bits, a 'strep' bacteria entered into his bloodstream. He is currently finishing up his I.V. antibiotics and will hopefully be switched to oral antibiotics and sent home tomorrow. Praise the Lord that the doctors were able to determine the cause and continue to pray for his recovery.
2/5/2010
Eugene Knight
Praise
Eugene went in this morning to have a stint looked at and potentially given 1-2 more. When the doctor got in, it turned out the only problem he had was his previous stint. The other two problem areas had actually gotten better over the past few years! The doctor was able to replace the troubled stint and Eugene is now recovering. Praise the Lord for a successful operation and pray for a quick and full recovery.
2/4/2010
Steven Pottorff
Prayer
Steven is currently at Butterworth waiting on result of blood work. He went in on Wednesday with a fever of 104. It looks like he probably contracted Malaria on his recent trip to Africa but the doctors are testing for other possible causes. Pray for him and Casey as they wait on the result and for healing of Steven's body.
2/4/2010
Frank Suidinski
Prayer
Pray for Frank as he is again having pain. The current bout seems to be as bad [if not worse] then what he was feeling before his procedure. Prayer for comfort and healing.

12/10/2009
VandePol`s great-granddaughter
Prayer
Rog and Sandy have a great-granddaughter named Onaleigh Haveman who is 8 months old. Her parents have been noticing some different behavior (like more sleeping during the day than normal). She was recently in the nursery of their church where one of the volunteers is a nurse and she saw Onaleigh have a seizure. They took her to the doctor and tests show that she probably suffered a stroke while in the womb due to a blood clot in the placenta. Please pray now for her treatment and health. They plan to give her anti-seizure medication and she will likely need therapy as there has been loss of function on one side. Thanks for your prayers!
12/5/2009

12/3/2009
Verna Heethuis
Prayer
Verna was admitted to the hospital and will spend at least one night there but the outlook looks good. They are treating her with a nitroglycerine paste on her chest to help her heart and a diuretic to help her lose the fluid around her heart and they think this should clear things up. Thanks for continuing to remember Verna in your prayers.
12/1/2009

I was just informed that my previous post didn't take (thanks to Judy Pacheco for that)...i apologize. 11/25/2009

Jeannie went to the emergency room on Wednesday with extreme pain in her abdomen which had been getting worse since the weekend. After a number of tests and scans the doctors determined that she has a diverticulitis, (basically an infection in part of her intestine). She is now home with a prescription for antibiotic. Please pray that the antibiotic will kick in quickly and that Jeannie will recover and be relieved from the pain. Pray too for peace for the situation as this obviously changes the Wolfs` Thanksgiving plans.

Sue Dubbink`s dad
Prayer
Sue`s dad, Norbert, found out that contrary to what they first found in the biopsy, he DOES have breast cancer. They will be performing a full mastectomy to remove it. Pray that surgery will be successful and that all of the cancer is removed.

Rog Van De Pol
Prayer
Rog finally has his appointment on Friday with the specialist to check his thyroid function. Meanwhile, though, he has had a very bad headache and pain in his neck that has been troubling. They still are not able to get in to see the doctor any earlier than Friday, so they are in a holding pattern. Pray for Rog, that there is no serious issue and that the doctor on Friday will have wisdom. Pray too for Sandy and her anxiety over Rog!

Murl Wilterdink
Prayer
Murl went to the hospital on Monday. He had a fall and then was having trouble getting up. The concern was that he had had a stroke. Praise God, it sounds like they have ruled out stroke and in fact the doctors believe that he has a systemic infection, which they are now treating. He feels better today. Please pray for Murl and his recovery.

Walkers` neighbor
Praise
Thanks for your prayers for Mark! His fever broke and the headaches have subsided. They are still waiting for blood work to come back for a firm diagnosis but they ruled out meningitis and believe he has some form of infection (possibly from a bug bite or something). But for now he is doing well enough that they should be sending him home.

Kaitlyn Sterley
Prayer
Many of you remember Becky Sterley and her daughter Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is in the hospital right now with double pneumonia, a bacterial infection throughout her body, fever and a blood clot in her neck. Please pray for her health and recovery. She is also concerned about making a trip in July that she has been planning for 2 years...pray that she gets well!

Walkers` neighbor
Prayer
Rick and Patti`s neighbor has 3 sons who are spending the summer in Kansas with their dad. The oldest one, Mark, has been hospitalized with symptoms that look like meningitis (fever, headache, stiff neck, etc). They are treating it to address both viral and bacterial meningitis while they wait for the culture results from his spinal fluid. Please pray for Mark and pray too for his mom as it is very stressful being so far away from him right now.

Scott Rodgers
Prayer
Please continue your prayers for Scott, who continues to be dealing with a lot of pain. They have raised the dose of his pain medication but that has by no means taken the pain away (not to mention the side effects of the increased dose). They determined that performing the procedure to kill the nerve is not an option because it would also take away control of bodily functions. They are going to start Scott next week on a course of 10 radiation treatments, (one per day on weekdays for 2 weeks), in the hopes that this will shrink the cancer enough to alleviate some of the pain. The Rodgers very much appreciate your prayers!!

Verna Heethuis
Praise
In case you didn`t hear it at church, Verna had a follow up scan that was clearer than the first scan and as it turns out the area of concern is NOT a lymph node, but a bump on her muscle which is of no concern. So she will not need surgery. Praise God! Verna is very relieved. She will still undergo some radiation treatment which will probably start in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for your prayers.

Scott Rodgers
Prayer
Scott`s pain became so unmanageable that he and Dawn spent the day at the ER on Sunday. The doctors believe that the cancer in his abdomen has grown and is pushing more on nerves. They are going to try a procedure where they use a catheter to inject alcohol into the "problem" nerve in order to kill it, thereby taking away the pain. Pray for Scott right now that God would give him comfort and relief. Pray too for their decision as to whether to try this procedure.

Sue Dubbink`s dad
Praise
Great news for Sue`s dad, (whose name is Norbert by the way). While the other day they were 90% sure that the tumor was breast cancer, they are now certain that it is a very rare, but benign mass. Praise God for the answer to prayer! He will still have surgery on June 24th to have the tumor removed but it was a huge relief to find out that it is not cancer. Thanks for your prayers.

Verna Heethuis
Prayer
Verna found out today that there is a lymph node that the doctor is concerned about. They don`t know yet what it is, but he is worried enough that he wants it removed. She will be having a CAT scan on Wednesday and will know more after that. Pray for healing, that the lymph node is NOT malignant, and for peace for Verna right now.

Sue Dubbink`s dad

Sue`s dad has just been diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his chest. He will be going in this Thursday to discuss treatment options. Please pray for him and for this cancer to be removed completely.

Bryces
Prayer
Many of you already know and have been praying for Eric and Vonda Bryce and their expected baby. Ultrasounds have shown excess fluid around the baby and there is a risk of miscarriage. However, we have a big God who is infinitely capable and we ask for your continued prayers for this baby! So far the baby continues to have a strong heartbeat which is a positive sign. Pray for strength, peace and faith for the Bryces, and pray for Vonda`s next appointment on June 15th when they will perform another ultrasound and amniocentesis. Thanks for praying!

Verna Heethuis
Praise
Verna found out for sure on Thursday that her oncologist does NOT want her to go through any chemotherapy. This is a big answer to prayer and a big relief for Verna! She will undergo some radiation therapy as a precaution, but otherwise things continue to look great for her. Thanks for praying.

Murl Wilterdink
Praise
Murl`s surgery went great on Thursday! The surgeon was able to repair both incisional hernias and was very pleased with the outcome. Murl was up, dressed and walking around by 10:30 Friday morning and chomping at the bit to go home. He will be discharged mid-day on Friday. Thanks so much for your prayers and keep praying for his recovery. Praise God for answered prayer!

Murl Wilterdink
Prayer
Murl FINALLY got the specific schedule for his surgery tomorrow to repair the incisional hernias. The surgery will be at 2:15PM at Butterworth Hospital. Please pray for Murl and the surgery tomorrow. Please pray especially that the surgeon will be able to completely repair both spots...he said he wouldn`t know for sure until he got into the surgery if it would be possible.
